When You Search for a term on web what actually happens in the background?
The first thing when you are searching on google we are actually searching the google indexes or index of the web or you might say contents that are at least indexed in google.
Google does this via software programs called spiders. Spiders first find a few few web pages then they follow the links on those web pages and further fetch the pages they point to and so on.. until they they get a pretty chunk on the web stored across thousands of machines with a billions of web pages.
Suppose searching a term “dog Speed”?
Now. when we search any term say “dog speed”. Google searches all those indexes containing the term “dog speed” and presents to to with pages having hundreds and thousands of possible results.
Now the question is how is the ranking set by google.. ?
It’s similar to asking questions / queries more than two hundred of them like-
- How much times does this page contains a keyword?
- Does this keyword appeared in the title section?
- Which kinds of links does this point to ?
- Appear in the URL?
- From a quality Website or a low quality website even Spamming?
Such kind of questions are are queried by google in order to find out relevant content to that particular search.
Google finally combines all those factors to get each page a score and on that ranking it shows you the results in just a few milliseconds.
PageRank (PR) is an algorithm used by Google Search to rank websites in their search engine results. PageRank was named after Larry Page, one of the founders of Google. PageRank is a way of measuring the importance of website pages.
According to Google:
Page-rank works by counting the number and quality of links to a page to determine a rough estimate of how important the website is. The underlying assumption is that more important websites are likely to receive more links from other websites.
Now few myth’s I’d be breaking here !!!
Google doesn’t accepts payments to add a site to its index ,update it again again or improve its ranking.
It just delivers some classy ads along the right and top yea Google Keyword planner is not free now!!
These ads are also taken by google very seriously and google shows you the ads based on the search terms suggestions and if there’s no search to a following term it won’t generate a single ad even..
Hope you find this information helpful.
